Disclaimer: I’m afraid this is one of those videos that is way funnier to us just because Kate’s our baby…
Vince picked out the kazoo for her at the Ambassador Toys shop in the financial district– she likes to have something to hold and we had forgotten to bring that something on our way to Chinatown. Anyway, I’ve been showing her how to use it for the past several weeks but she hadn’t quite figured it out until this afternoon.
Kate comes from a very musical background on her granddad Barnes’ side, but, unfortunately, that does not come through in this clip. I’m sure it will only be funnier when Kate grows up to be some kind of world-class musician (perhaps following in the footsteps of her great aunt)– or maybe a world champion in duck calling.
Who cares if it’s a Hallmark-driven holiday– some of us need an excuse to give and receive tokens of love. The “Tower o’ Dark Chocolate” I received yesterday might be biasing me toward the holiday…
I’m type A, just a little, so when a friend sent me an email and included this line, I got fired up………You can never go wrong when you keep the core strong.
Kate and I spend a lot of time during the week at the Eureka Valley playground since it’s about 4 blocks away– and has a rec center attached with an indoor play area and inexpensive “classes” like running around with trikes. It was a gorgeous day here, so after running around the city all afternoon and our obligatory nap, we all went down to the playground after dinner, where Kate had her first solo slide experience! See video below.
This is my first multiple video compilation– I’m getting better. (Thanks to Vince’s dad for the soundtrack…)
I mean, it’s only a week since the Super Bowl and the total domination by the Giants is still fresh in my mind.
Dad got me a pennant, I’m looking for a hat in my size and all the other Super Bowl stuff I can find. I mean, it’s great, but if I have to hang out and wait around another 12 years, the one pennant ain’t enough. I’m gonna need some serious stuff.
We lost a bear-shaped finger puppet from Ikea somewhere around Union Square this afternoon. The trick is to bring something small enough for Kate to hold but big enough that I notice when she drops it.
